Artisan Earrings Fleur de Lis Inside Open Rope Frame 925 Black Diamonds

The Fleur de Lis emblem is inset in an open twisted rope like frame. Part of the Mon Coeur Fleur de Lis Collection, the round earrings are made using 925, sterling silver, and six (6) 1 millimeters cut black diamonds.    The earrings measures 19 mm long, by 19 mm wide, and 2.5 mm thick or 0.75" long by 0.75" wide, and 0.10" of an inch wide.    The weight is 4.8 dwt or 7.5 grams.

The Fleur de Lis has been a symbol for the city of New Orleans ever since the city’s birth.    Meaning Lily in French, the emblem of the Fleur de Lis was associated with the Duke D’ Orleans and was incorporated into the city’s flag.    After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, the Fleur de Lis became a symbol of support for the city and unity among all who love her.

The symbolic meaning for this Collection is the life preserver ring.    Thrown to a person in the water to prevent drowning or provide buoyancy until they can be rescued.    This symbol reminds me that only together can we survive.
